* Get out those razors, guys. Men who don't need to shave every day are 70 per cent more likely to suffer a stroke than those who do, research from Bristol University in the UK revealed.

* German researchers were charged with sniffing the sweaty armpits of a group of volunteers to test the effectiveness of the anti-wrinkle treatment Botox as an anti-perspirant. Separate research released in the US said male sweat could reduce stress and induce relaxation in women – and even affect the menstrual cycle.

* An 85-year-old widow was so determined not to be resuscitated that she had the words "do not resuscitate" tattooed across her chest

* Spanish researchers diagnosed an extremely rare disease that makes people smell of fish. Trimethylaminuria, or fish odour syndrome, is caused by a liver abnormality.

When the incomparable Dave Stevens made his comic book The Rocketeer, he used Bettie Page as a the girlfriend of his fictional hero. How fitting that when the film version was made, that the statuesque pin-up goddess' role was filled by Jennifer Connelly, who captures the raven haired girl next door quality of Page like no other glamour girl has since. We've seen her grow up from the Goblin King's object of torment in Labryinth, to the sexy girl with a too tight white shirt riding a horse in Career Opportunities, to the brilliant Oscar winning actress of A Beautiful Mind. One thing's for sure... it's Jennifer's world, we just drool in it.

Startup Control Panel is a nifty control panel applet that allows you to easily configure which programs run when your computer starts. It's simple to use and, like all my programs, is very small and won't burden your system. A valuable tool for system administrators!

Startup Control Panel is compatible with all modern versions of Windows, including Windows 95, 98, 98SE, ME, NT 4.0, 2000, and XP.

This just saved my butt while installing the cable modem. There were several little pieces of shitware stuck in the crevices of my 98 box that were making things hard for the cable modem to work. With this I cleaned 'em right out. It's got all the registry stuff in one place. Microsoft should have to include this with every version of Windoze.
