Subject:   [MeFi] Sen. Russ Feingold pushes resolution for Censure of Bush.
Public
Mr. President, when the President of the United States breaks the law, he must be held accountable. That is why today I am introducing a resolution to censure President George W. Bush. The President authorized an illegal program to spy on American citizens on American soil, and then misled Congress and the public about the existence and legality of that program. It is up to this body to reaffirm the rule of law by condemning the President’s actions. All of us in this body took an oath to support and defend the Constitution of the United States and bear true allegiance to the same. Fulfilling that oath requires us to speak clearly and forcefully when the President violates the law. This resolution allows us to send a clear message that the President’s conduct was wrong. And we must do that. The President’s actions demand a formal judgment from Congress.

Just getting the @#$%ing morons in Congress to do anything at all besides licking up Bush & Co's lies sure would be nice, even if it is purely symbolic. Plus, we get to throw some hurt down on the people who have been propping up Bush. Like the 29 senate "Democrats" who voted for the invasion of Iraq. (Fortunately, no senator yet has voted to allow Bush the power to illegally wiretap without the permission of the FISA courts. Though some Republican senators have proposed a bill that would make it explicitly legal.)

Nobody in Congress will have an excuse after this. You either voted to tell Bush that shredding the constitution is wrong, or you had the chance but decided against it.

If you have a minute today or tomorrow, call Ken Salazar and explain to him why you support censuring Bush for his illegal wire-tapping. I'd like to see him vote the right way on this one. And call Wayne Allard and do the same, even if it won't do any good.

  Mood:sardonic

"In an increasingly congested and hard-fought commute, with stop and go, bumper to bumper traffic practically the norm during all daylight hours... one man struggles against all odds. His goal: to make traffic EVEN WORSE."

o/~ "Mr. Idiot 1% Commuter!"

"No Interstate, Minor throughfare, School Zone, or Residential Alleyway is safe in your presence. The most mundane driving actions, practically brainstem function even for those of us with 35th percentile IQs, are a thrilling challenge for you."

o/~ "Is that brake pedal on the left, or on the right, yeah..."

"Presented with a 35 MPH speed limit, divided Boulevard with two lanes in each direction, you managed to have an accident so bad it attracted two firetrucks, four police cars, a Denver Emergency Rescue Squad wagon, and completely blocked ALL FOUR LANES of Speer Blvd for hours on end. Along the way, you turned your SUV into a crumpled ball of metal so tightly twisted together, not even a welding torch could cut you free from the wreckage."

o/~ "Bring ouuuuttt the Jaws of Life now!"

"You've successfully proven that your driving skills are inferior to those of a common chimpanzee. A chimpanzee... that never took Driver's Ed. So crack yourself an ice-cold Bud Light, Mr Idiot 1% Commuter. But please, not while you're behind the wheel. You're stupid enough... just the way you are."

I have got to stop being on the road with these dumb animals. The shit I see more than once per week is absolutely unbelievable.
