[MeFi] It is dangerous to be right when your government is wrong.

And for nobody more so than the soldier...

You want to talk about screwed?

- The Liberals won't support you because they (correctly) hate your Commander in Chief for being a stupid war-monger who sends soldiers to die for reasons that are manifestly false.

- If you dare to tell the truth, act on your conscience, and refuse unconstitutional orders as required by the uniform code of military justice, the Conservatives will withdraw their support and hate you. And you'll probably wind up in jail.

- If you do nothing, then you stand a good chance of getting blown up by an IED (can you believe that nearly 20,000 wounded number??), or else stop-lossed and forced to serve again until you do get blown up.

So this is the way we treat the people who are willing to lay down their lives for our country? Who will willingly die so that the rest of us can sit here, fat dumb and happy, with our reality TV and our SUVs?

I do not like the country I live in. I do not like it one fucking bit. I think, in fact, that I would like to personally kill most of its inhabitants.

Two years, six months remain.

In today's news of the FUCKING DUH, Bush admits no Iraq-9/11 connection.

President Bush was in the midst of explaining how the attacks of 9/11 inspired his "freedom agenda" and the attacks on Iraq until a reporter, Ken Herman of Cox News, interrupted to ask what Iraq had to do with 9/11. "Nothing," Bush answered.

In keeping with his long history of admitting the blazingly obvious two years too late, I expect Bush will declare the War On Terrah! a failure, and the invasion of Iraq a complete scam, just as he leaves office.
