So this article spends a bunch of time whining about how cell phones aren't good web browsers, and neither are Blackberries. Then it swiftly concludes that mobile web is still a long ways off.

I got one word for you blind idiots: IPHONE

Recently, I sat in a car for 17 hours, driving through some of the most desolate parts of the USA. Western Kansas, to be exact. (Actual sign seen on the drive: "Next rest stop - 43 miles") My mom's iPhone was able to receive email the whole time, and at one point we even Googled for what area code 213 was. I was able to pull up the Wikipedia page on 213 with no problem at all - full graphics and everything. Oh, it didn't load real quick, true. But the fact remains that we were in the exact middle of BFE, and we were emailing and web browsing full web pages with no problems at all, and doing so 95% as easily as with a laptop.

Mobile web is a long ways away?? You guys are such fucking dinosaurs that you can't see what's biting you right on your stupid, hidebound asses. Once word gets around about how easy, functional, convenient, well-implemented and even pretty the iPhone is, RIM and Nokia are going to get their asses kicked in at a truly astonishing rate. And they absolutely deserve it.

Apple has done mobile web right. It's here today, right now. If you want good mobile web, go buy an iPhone and be done with it.

Perhaps Turley's most telling observation was that members of both parties are happy to see these cases dismissed because they are determined to keep impeachment off the table. "There's a lot of people, both Democrats and Republicans, that ... don't want a court to say that the president did something that is a federal crime. That's why they're trying to get all these cases thrown out of court. ... When a federal judge says the president committed a crime, it's pretty darn hard to ignore that."
