NIN was great. The audience... not so much.

The other people at the NIN concert were intensely annoying. I lost count of the number of screaming, whistling right in my ear, pot and cigarette smoke blowing in my face, wildly failing, elbows and hands constantly hitting me tard-bags that I so very want to punch out and/or throw down the (extremely steep) terraces of Red Rocks. Maybe I would have had as good as time as they did if I had been drunk as hell and stoned off my ass like they were. I'll try that next time... if I ever see NIN at Red Rocks again.

On the other hand, NIN put on a great stage show with some fantastic effects, and played some great songs. Some boring ones too, but what are you gonna do. My only complaint is "it's too loud", aka "I'm too old." I was 2/3rds up, at the 40th row, and every guitar chord was deafeningly loud. Again, if there is a next time, I'll be bringing ear plugs.

Worth $100 for the ticket? Yes, definitely. NIN puts on a great show. This is the new best stage show ever. Better than GWAR, better than Marlyn Manson.

But I swear to god, if there is a next time, I'm bringing my sword in and taking off every head within a 5' radius. The audience was that annoying.

Now get off my lawn!!

(Honestly, I don't know why I'm so excessively annoyed with this particular group of fucktards. I was in the presence of a much larger group of mooing idiots for three days straight at PAX, and yet I can't remember a single time there when I wanted to mass-murder any of them.)

Thanks to j_b for getting me the ticket!
