A 38-year old man Wen Wen walked into a hospital room in Xi’an, central China, with an entire blade buried in his head and casually answered all the questions about his injuries before getting operated to remove the blade from his head.
The blade entered Wen’s skull above his right ear, went down the nasal cavity and finally emerged into his mouth. Luckily, the angle was such that the blade missed all the major arteries, blood vessels and nerves.
A medic who witnessed the entire event said, "He's incredibly lucky. He could walk and talk perfectly and he will make a full recovery. One or two centimeters in another direction, though, and he would be dead." The miraculous x-ray images of Wen’s injured skull with the 5-inch blade completely inside his head show how lucky he had been to survive such a fatal strike.
