Two of the 106.7 KBPI DJs, Willy B and Uncle Nasty, braved the cold and rain from Sunday to Wednesday down at the Pepsi Center. They were doing a food drive for the Denver Rescue Mission - basically, the people who feed the homeless down there in Denver. Three days these guys sat outside and asked people on the radio to bring canned food. And they got some great stories. Willy's favorite was the guy who bicycled from Commerce City, bought food with his last $11, and gave it to the food drive - all this to set a good example for his kids. Willy and Nasty were singing the praises of their listeners the whole time. Talkin' about guys with mohawks and nose rings coming down and donating boxes and boxes of food. Crazy, amazing stuff.

Today, the director of the Mission called the station to give the results of the food drive. 41,000 lbs (21 tons) of non-perishable food! It's the BIGGEST DONATION in the 113 year history of the Denver Rescue Mission!

And this from the same guys who run the only radio station in Denver where you can hear MegaDeth. How can you not love 'em?

I b0w.

I have been a long time fan of these guys -- they sound a little, well not so smooth, at first, but as I am sure you know can be quite clever. More than once have they had me rolling on the floor with hysterics. And, they do good.

They sound like complete jerkoffs, to not put too fine a point on it. ;D That's what makes them so fun to listen to, I think.

I have never seen anyone with the combination of "complete goofball" and "huge hearted community activist" that Willy B and crew have. NOT that I'm complaining though. Not at all.

I do better when people don't post random junk on previous entries.
