Some guy from GeekWeek.com goes to a sci-fi con and looks for people dressed as characters from series. He sees someone who is "cosplaying" as Joss Whedon... or so he thinks. But it actually was Joss! Mistaken Identityalarity ensues.

why is it that Evil is always hotter?

Evil Willow, Evil Kiera from DS9, Pirotess vs Deedlit (Lososs Wars)

Evil is always way more in your face hot than good. Why is that?

I guess it's the male equivalent of how women can't seem to help being attracted to assholes. Everyone would love to break the rules and be "bad", but we keep ourselves in check most of the time. So it's a lot of fun to live vicariously through bad characters.

Also, I think a lot of guys in our generation are looking for equals in our women, as opposed to past generations that had a larger expectation for their girlfriends and wives to be passive and/or submissive. And bad girls by their nature are just more willing and able to stand up for themselves. Okay, maybe they use that ability for evil, but at least they HAVE it. And it's undeniably an attractive trait.

But I'm actually more interested in the camera tricks aspects of this clip. Like, how they got Alyson Hannigan to play against herself so realistically. I remember in The Sixth Day, Arnie played against himself and it wasn't nearly as believable. I refuse to believe that they rotoscoped all those frames by hand as was done with Forrest Gump. Buffy is a TV series and they don't have a hundred million dollar budget and Industrial Light and Magic behind them. It wasn't double exposure, or if it was the cameraman was ungodly good. And if there's a computerized way to do it, I haven't heard of it yet.

Hey, submission can be a good thing. I've always said, if I'm tied up or she's tied up, so long as someone's tied up, I'm happy.

Ok, technically, submission doesn't necessarily equal that, but submissive behavior can be a part of it.

Well, okay, maybe bad choice of words. But independent of sexual fetish, don't you still find women who can kick ass attractive?

Oh, I don't know that it was a bad choice of words. I know what you meant and I do agree.

It was kinda a rhetorical question; because my thinking is along pretty much the same lines. But I'm glad I'm not the only one thinking that way.

I suppose though, to be more specific, why can't the "good guy" girls be that hot and have that kind of ability? Why is it always the evil girls that are that hot and that ass whuppin?

Cultural repression/backlash/fear against the thought of women that are that sexually and physically powerful? So they have to be the bad guys 'cause we can't accept them as the good guys?

And why, oh WHY do they (all of them) always end up with a man or dependant on one or some such? Why can't they stay independent?

Feh...

I want a woman that doesn't need me for anything, but instead chooses to make me a part of her life 'cause she thinks I'm fun to have around.

Last time I found a woman like that, she was deemed so dangerous that she had to be deported back to Austrailia.

And people wonder why I hate the government. ;]

Joss has a sense of humor. That is a good thing.

Do you think it was all staged or that the GeekWeek guy never figured it out?

I have trouble with youtube/googlevideo, I install shockwave, flash, and I can hear sound, and there's space blocked out for the video, but no actual video, just blank space. There's nothing on the help sections that explain it.

I assume it's something on my computer blocking it.

Sounds like either your media player or other a/v plugin just isn't installed properly. The fact that you're getting sound shows that the file is loading correctly and being fed to some media player on your computer. That media player is just not showing the video for some reason. If you don't have quicktime installed, that may be it. Since YouTube hides behind a mountain of JavaScript I'm not patient enough to reverse-engineer, I'm not sure what format their video clips are in.

I'm sure there's a way to fix things, but if it's just this one video you care about, then just this once you might want to fire up IE and use that just this once. On the other hand, if you actually want to view net video regularly, then the forums at Mozilla.org might be worth checking out. I doubt you're the first person to have problems of this sort.
