|Mreh... [minor spoiler warning]
... I didn't much enjoy it.
It kind of reminded me of Matrix 2 in its overuse of effects, lack of plot, bad acting, and excess characters. The story has gone so far afield of the canon it's ridiculous; which wouldn't be so bad, except that what they've done in it's place is terrible. The movie left me with a bad taste in my mouth, going "That's what I get for a Dark Phoenix saga? The FUCK?!". Jean Grey with multiple personality disorder? Wolverine killing people left and right and they don't at least _bleed_? And Halle Barre.... God damn, just shut her the fuck up and don't let her into any movies anymore; she has all the delivery of a wet dishrag.
On the plus side, I did enjoy whatshisface as Hank McCoy/Beast. I'll probably go to hell for it, but the girl that played Kitty Pryde was some seriously hot jailbait. She has potential to be a really good actress to boot. "This is tower 4. We have an incoming bridge." or something similar _should_ have been in there. Of course I'm entirely mystified as to WHY he had to use a whole bridge... but that's just one of MANY holes in the movie that got me kinda tiffed.
I'm undecided about what I think of Patrick Stewart's version of Prof. X this time around.
Or maybe I'm just a cynic who hates it when remakes go too far afield.
The Ghost Rider trailor looked good. I like Nick Cage, and I don't know crap about Ghost Rider canon so it won't bother me if it's terribly off.
