A couple of interesting surprises here. First of all, I think most people associate gun deaths with gangs, generally younger people. But according to this, there were 1% more deaths in the 40+ age group (39) as there were in the 18-39 age group (38). Also, suicide by firearm is extremely common. In the 18-to-39 age group, 15 of 38 deaths (39%) were suicides. In the 40+ age group, 30 of the 39 deaths (77%) were suicides.

Which means 61% were not.

I'd like to see the stats for suicide by other methods, especially in the 18-39 group. They could have little nooses or pills for the graphics.

Be curious to know about those stats myself. Other stats say that men tend to use a gun or hang themselves, or occasionally cars. Women tend to use suffocation or pills, or occasionally cutting.

Anyway, wasn't trying to advance any particular agenda.
